Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cleaning & Sanitation

|

Braintree, MA (March 11, 2020) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring the outbreak of a novel (meaning new) coronavirus (2019-nCoV), which was first detected in Wuhan City, China, and has since spread to 107 additional countries. With 565 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the United States (through March 9, 2020), Peabody Properties believes it prudent for its team members to be prepared for incidents involving 2019-nCoV should they occur.

It is important to recognize that Peabody, its affiliates and team members are not health care professionals. The CDC and other qualified health officials should continue to be the primary source of current information and guidance.

At Peabody, we understand that residents, team members and clients may have concerns about how our apartment communities are addressing and working to prevent the spread of the virus.

According to the CDC, “there is much more to learn about the transmissibility, severity and other features associated with 2019-nCoV and investigations are ongoing.” As such and to help limit the spread of the virus, Peabody’s managed communities are expanding and enhancing the frequency and intensity of cleaning procedures with our contracted cleaning vendors and maintenance staff.

Starting this week, Peabody will commence the cleaning and disinfecting all high-traffic surfaces such as door handles, railings, elevator buttons, as well as common rooms, like gyms and laundry rooms on an increased basis.

Furthermore, as it pertains to apartment inspections – all team members who wish to use personal protective equipment such as gloves, are approved to do so.

Finally, we will work to provide hand-sanitizer stations around the buildings, as product stock become available.

Because this is a rapidly evolving situation, Peabody will continue to monitor all development and will continue efforts to secure guidance specific to the operation of rental housing from health officials.

Should residents or clients have any additional questions, we encourage them to visit the CDC website for updated information and safety precaution tips.
