Peabody Properties, an affiliate of the Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms, has garnered an estimated $5 million in grants over the past 27 years. Peabody’s commitment to resident services at their properties was established in 1990 and has expanded over the decades to 80 on-staff social services and nurse professionals. Grant awards from 1995 to-date have provided residents with access to healthcare and enrichment programming within their housing communities and linkages to community providers and resources.
Grant awards from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), MassHousing Youth RAP, United Healthcare, Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative, and other funding sources directly benefit residents, including through wellness educational programs and health screening clinics, youth recreational activities and academic support, tenancy stabilization and transition services for formerly homeless veterans and families, senior supportive services, neighborhood beautification, enhanced security, and on-site technology centers.
“From wellness initiatives to youth programming, veterans’ housing and more, the grants we have procured – a total of $5 million – are directed fully toward resident services, providing additional value to our properties and for our residents,” said Doreen Bushashia, president of Peabody Resident Services, Inc.
