Pleasant Street Apartments in Beverly, Massachusetts, a Veteran’s Supportive Housing community managed by Peabody Properties, a full-service real estate and property management firm, recently celebrated its 5th anniversary with an event attended by residents, staff and case managers from Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) based out of the Bedford Veterans Administration office.
Taking place at the community, the celebration featured a barbeque-style lunch sponsored by Pleasant Street Apartments and provided by Tennessee’s Real BBQ Real Fast of Peabody. MassHousing Tenant Assistance Program Vendor, The Richard Mayer Trio from Brattleboro, Vermont, performed an “American Pop” show featuring music from the 1950s and 1960s.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since we opened our doors,” said Neil DeFazio, Property Manager at Pleasant Street Apartments. “It was heartwarming to see so many of our residents participate in a memorable day of great food, fantastic music and camaraderie.”
Pleasant Street Apartments is the result of renovation and re-use of an historic industrial building into 32 units of permanent, furnished and supportive housing for homeless veterans. To help veteran residents maintain successful tenancies, wrap-around supportive services are provided by the site management and resident services team as well as a live-in responder and a clinical-licensed social worker, provided for through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
