Braintree and Springfield, MA (November 27, 2024) – The Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms, is pleased to announce that Maritza Matos-Alicea of Springfield, Massachusetts, has been awarded both a New England Past President’s Scholarship and an IREM Foundation Women in Leadership Scholarship by the Boston Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) to pursue a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation.
The New England Past President’s Scholarship encourages education and industry knowledge by assisting recipients with the cost of tuition associated with earning an IREM credential.
The Women in Leadership Scholarship, which became available in 2024, supports individuals who identify as women in their pursuit of career advancement into leadership roles within real estate through education and IREM certification.
Matos-Alicea, who joined the Peabody Companies in September of 2016, is the senior portfolio manager at Framingham Green in Framingham, Massachusetts.
The scholarship awards will cover a significant portion of the tuition associated with Matos-Alicea earning her CPM. The designation is considered the premier public sector property management certification worldwide and is based on a selected set of competencies.
“Congratulations to Maritza for receiving, not one, but two IREM scholarships,” said Erin Simas, learning and development manager with the Peabody Companies. “These well-earned awards are certain to assist Maritza as she continues the journey toward achieving her CPM.”
