Braintree and Boston, MA (May 6, 2023) – Krystal Rodriguez, Director of Portfolio Operations and Tammy Jordan, Vice President of People & Culture with Peabody Property’s, an affiliate of The Peabody Companies were featured breakout session speakers during the Massachusetts Apartment Association (MMA) Expo 2023 held May 2nd at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
During the session, Rodriguez, who is also Chair of Peabody’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and Jordan shared a summary of Peabody’s more than two-year DEI journey.
The well-attended MMA Expo 2023 session addressed the company’s reasons for initiating the DEI Committee, its formation, structure, in-house leadership support, and evolution. The presentation also spoke to the critical role of trust between DEI Committee members, the role of external consultants, and the challenges, successes, and set-backs faced.
Participants then had the opportunity to share related accounts, followed by a Q & A session where Rodriguez and Jordan provided information to help attendees begin their own DEI journey or further advance the objectives of their existing program.
“It was an honor to be asked to present at this year’s Expo and a pleasure to share our journey with participants,” said Rodriguez.
Said Jordan, “Diversity, equity, and inclusion fosters a sense of community and collaboration – it is a priority for our organization and has become the fabric of our culture.”
Through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the Peabody Companies has identified areas of commitment: to be allies for communities of color; to education; to doing the hard work, not just today but in the future; to being part of the change that needs to happen; and to action.
The Peabody Companies has been named a finalist for the Leading Organization in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award from the National Apartment Association (NAA), to be announced during the 2023 Excellence Awards Ceremony, slated for June 7th in Atlanta, Georgia.
