Coronavirus (COVID-19) Social Distancing Measures for Health & Wellness

|

Braintree, MA (March 13, 2020) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring the outbreak of a novel (meaning new) coronavirus (COVID-19), which was first detected in Wuhan City, China, and has since spread to 122 additional countries. With 1,323 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the United States (through March 12, 2020), Peabody Properties believes it is prudent for its team members to be prepared for incidents involving 2019-nCoV should they occur.

It is important to recognize that Peabody, its affiliates and team members are not health care professionals. The CDC and other qualified health officials should continue to be the primary source of current information and guidance.

At Peabody, we understand that residents, clients and team members may have concerns about how our managed communities are addressing and working to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

All social distancing measures outlined below are effective immediately and have been instituted out of an abundance of caution and with the health and wellbeing of our residents, clients and team members in mind.

Closure of Management Offices to the Public

All management offices will be closed to the public but will be open for administrative purposes and to ensure the continuity of business operations. All on-site staff will still report and will be ready to respond to any resident questions via remote forms of communication (phone or email).

Resident payments may be dropped off in office drop-boxes and/or paid online via our community websites. Please keep in mind, online payments are available to many, but not all of our managed communities.

Suspension & Modification of Resident Services

We will be suspending all Resident Service-coordinated activities for the next thirty (30) days. All Resident Service-related functions will be conducted via remote forms of communication (phone or email).

Non-Emergency Maintenance and Work Orders

All non-emergency work orders / service requests will be suspended for the time being. Emergency work orders / service requests – those that are reasonably considered to cause an imminent health or safety risk to residents if not addressed immediately – will be prioritized and handled as they occur. Additionally, regular community upkeep, including the frequent cleaning of high-traffic surface areas, trash removal, etc. will continue as normal.

Common Areas will Remain Open

All common areas (community rooms, fitness facilities and otherwise) will remain open for the use and enjoyment of our residents and will be cleaned on an increased basis. Should residents wish to gather within these locations, they are welcome to do so.

Because this is a rapidly evolving situation, Peabody will continue to monitor all developments and will continue efforts to secure guidance specific to the operation of housing from health officials.

Should residents or clients have any additional questions, we encourage them to visit the CDC website for updated information and safety precaution tips.
