Raises $26,891 to Support Boston Shelter
Braintree, MA (May 8, 2026) – The Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms now celebrating its 50th anniversary, is proud to announce that Kaeleen Price, a multi-site manager at Peabody Properties, went the distance at the April 20th Boston Marathon, raising $26,891 on behalf of Women’s Lunch Place, a Boston-based day shelter that serves women facing homelessness or housing insecurity.
Price ran the marathon as part of Team WLP, setting a personal goal of raising $15,000. Her final sponsorship tally vastly outpaced that original ambition, ultimately climbing well beyond her target, thanks to an outpouring of support. Together the four women of Team WLP raised nearly $65,000.
Price’s strong ties to Women’s Lunch Place began in 2024 when she partnered with the non-profit and helped 50 women secure safe, stable housing at a Peabody property under her management. She has since become an active volunteer at and champion of Women’s Lunch Place, regularly lending her time, voice, and energy to advance its mission.
“Volunteering at Women’s Lunch Place reminds me of how powerful acts of kindness can be,” said Price. “I’m deeply thankful to my marathon sponsors for believing in this amazing organization and helping me exceed my goal.”
The Peabody Companies has formed an ongoing partnership with Women’s Lunch Place, rooted in a shared commitment to support women experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
“Kaeleen ran with great heart and purpose, both personally and as a member of Team WLP,” said Eve Backhaus, Director of Annual Giving & Events at Women’s Lunch Place. “We are incredibly grateful not only for her participation in the Boston Marathon on behalf of our mission, but also for her dedicated support throughout the year.”
“Kaeleen’s marathon run did more than raise funds,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and CEO of The Peabody Companies. “It set a powerful example of dedication to a cause. The entire Peabody community is proud of her commitment and accomplishment.”
As the company commemorates its 50th anniversary, staff members are engaging in community and resident service projects throughout the year. Price’s marathon fundraising effort was part of a “50 Acts of Kindness” campaign, an initiative marking the company’s longstanding commitment to compassion, community, and positive impact.
